初始保证金是在投资者进入交易所或经纪商的交易平台之前交付的，以确保投资者有足够的现金或等价物来承担他们的未来亏损。而期货保证金账户是为了保证投资者有足够的资金来很好地满足该合约相关的维持保证金。

因此，选项B中的描述是错误的。
