机构投资者很多时候是分散投资，并不会在一家公司持有大量股份，通常是小股东。即便持股量大，也不会到控股的地步，不会去控股运营一家企业。所以大多数是小股东。

这里是说的个体的，一个个独立的机构投资者。individual是形容词，adj.个别的;单独的;
